MAITLAND, Fla. – Marcus Jordan, the 34-year-old son of NBA icon Michael Jordan, was taken into custody early Tuesday after authorities found his vehicle stuck on railroad tracks, just minutes before a commuter train was set to pass.
Maitland Police officers found Jordan’s Lamborghini SUV stranded on the tracks in an Orlando suburb. His tires had become embedded in dirt and rocks due to excessive spinning, leaving the vehicle immobile on the tracks endangering civilians. when asked how he got his car stuck Jorden insisted that he just made a wrong turn. A commuter train was only 10 minutes away from the location.
Authorities determined that Jordan had fled from a traffic stop in a neighboring county before ending up on the tracks. When officers approached, they noticed the smell of alcohol, slurred speech, and signs of disorientation. Upon asking him to exit the car, they discovered a bag in his pants containing a substance that later tested positive for cocaine, according to the arrest report.
Jordan was charged with possession of cocaine, a second-degree misdemeanor, and resisting an officer without violence, also a misdemeanor, according to court records. He was arrested at 1:14 a.m. ET, processed at 6:03 a.m. and released at 11:38 a.m. after posting a $4,000 bond.
